Why should you consider a delivery management system like TranSend?
If you are a wholesaler/distributor with a dedicated fleet of vehicles, then TranSend is for you; have you ever considered the benefits of a delivery management system?
These days, it’s standard practice for businesses to look to improve their services through the innovative use of technology. Forward thinking businesses want to make sure that they are always one step ahead of their competition, so this is the perfect way to make sure you aren’t getting left behind when it comes to making the most of your delivery offering to reduce costs, improve efficiency and customer service.
What can a delivery management system achieve for my business?
A good delivery management system can support your business in a number of different ways. Using software to manage and automate your processes can help you in becoming more efficient, which is not only good for your staff members bogged down in tedious admin but also will yield improvements in your customer service.
From the very beginning of the delivery process TranSend can ensure that orders are loaded onto the right vehicles and build routes that make the most efficient use of your vehicles and drivers time.
There are some obvious benefits to digitising these processes, not least from leaving behind the days of time consuming and laborious task of manually creating routes and producing delivery manifests handed to your driver before they leave.
Instead, the route and capacity calculations are taken care of by TranSend Route Planning via a dynamic allocation system, allowing planners to auto-allocate orders to vehicles. In addition the Route Builder allows planners to manually create routes from un-routed orders and modify full or partial routes that are ready to be planned for delivery, using drag and drop functionality.
With TranSend ePOD, routes are automatically visible on your driver’s PDA which will allow them to receive updates or changes to the route in real time while on the move. The ePOD workflow provides drivers with simple, step-by-step instructions on-screen, removing the need for detailed paperwork and saving driver time. Much more than ‘sign on glass’, the app manages the driver’s entire day including vehicle checks, trailer management, fuel recording and incident reporting.
For each delivery, there are numerous options to improve record keeping or customer service; whether that’s the option to record the delivery as successful or notify customers of an updated ETA. As well as monitoring the whole delivery process in real time, there’s also the ability to store pictures of damaged/delivered goods and signature capture to generate a detailed electronic POD.
Linking to your back-office software system
The ERP software that we supply integrates with the TranSend solution so you can manage the consolidation of pre-optimised routes with product-level order details generated from your back-office solution. Integrated systems allow you to avoid what we call “islands of information” which occur when you have solutions that don’t work together.
The data from your delivery management system can then be analysed in more detail within Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This information provides you with true visibility of your success rate and can be shared with your customers as statistics to demonstrate your delivery capabilities. This is known as OTIF (On Time In Full) and can enhance your customer service experience.
