Blue Rock attended the 2014 NMBS Exhibition earlier this year, pleased to report lots of interest and proud to have been part of the biggest year ever!
The NMBS Exhibition is the biggest event of its kind in the builders’ merchant calendar. The National Merchant Buying Society has been going for 51 years and has said that this year’s event marks a new milestone in the event’s history. Click here for the NMBS Exhibition 2014 review.
The Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner was held the night before the show. As usual, it was a great atmosphere and the evening was relaxed (although that may have had something to do with the free bar!) Luckily our colleagues avoided hangovers and were bright eyed at 8:15am the next morning for the start of the exhibition show.
This year the exhibition was held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, allowing more space for more stands than previous years, bringing 50 more suppliers together under the same roof. With the recent merge of the NMBS and Unimer earlier this year it soon became obvious that this has only increased the amount of interest in networking opportunities such as this one, with record numbers of merchants passing through the doors to see what was on offer. In order to set us apart from the competition, this year we wanted to try something a little bit different.
Hold All the Aces with Blue Rock
Blue Rock wanted to stand out from the crowd by by inviting Maximilian the Magician to join us on our stand. Max performed a number of incredible card tricks with our Blue Rock branded playing cards, producing our business card from his iPhone and handing it to astonished passers-by. He also managed to bamboozle the opposition, who visited our stand for a bit of friendly banter before leaving wondering just what had happened…
See You Next Year?
Will you be going to the NMBS exhibition next year? Did you miss it this year? We highly recommend the show as it gives merchants and suppliers the opportunity to put names to faces, meet and greet old and new customers as well as providing a platform to chat with people you may not have met before. We hope to see you there!
