We’re back from another NMBS exhibition and this year’s was the most successful so far. With record numbers of exhibitors and visitors coming through the exhibition doors on 16th April the event created the perfect opportunity for both business and networking. We have attended the NMBS show for the last 7 years, showcasing Intact Software, our ERP software solution for builders’ merchants and the building supply chain.
In celebration of our 10 year anniversary we redesigned our exhibition stand to include bigger graphics, quotes from our customers and TV screen to demo our software on. It must have been the combination of our new stand and the amount of visitors through the doors that meant we had a huge amount of interest on the stand this year – usually we run a short introduction video on the screen, but this year Simon was so busy demoing Intact iQ that we didn’t have time to put our YouTube video on!
We did have extra help in attracting visitors back to the stand in the form of Maximilian Curd, close-up magician. Maximilian has visited the exhibition with us for two years now and his slick magic tricks always leave a smile on the faces of both visitors and exhibitors. Due to the record turnout this year we ran out of our Blue Rock playing cards (which Max gave away as gifts) faster than expected!
There were lots of competitions and special promotions being held at various stands around the show. On the Crystal Direct stand they had former WBO middleweight and super-middleweight world champion Steve Collins, and were holding a competition to see who could hit a punch ball the hardest. The winner took home a pair of boxing gloves signed by Steve.
On the OX stand they were using tools and stencils to carve their logo into a wall of sand, we kept stopping by throughout the day to see how it was developing! We also saw a mini casino being set up on the end of one stand, as well as a sound tunnel which demonstrated how efficient insulation can be at cutting down background noise. On another stand they had set up a dartboard and were offering a £25 prize for hitting the bullseye. Watch the NMBS video here.
We hope that everyone else at the show had as successful a time as we did, and we hope to see you all there next year!
